Bicycle Club

I have such a difficult time print mixing. It is one fashion magic trick that I have never possessed, and I'm always so inspired by girls who looks they literally just throw together things without a thought. THAT IS NOT ME. Everything requires so much thought for me. I actually make lists of potential outfits guys...I'm ridiculous.

But when I found this print in my favorite Old Navy Pixie pants, I was determined to dust off my print mixing "skills". My tips for print mixing is, keep it simple. Especially for us tall/curvy gals, I try to keep the prints small and noncompeting. This bicycle shirt is so playful, and is a graphic print that compliments (not contrasts) from the happy polka dot pants. And it is spring after all! Have some fun with color and print, smell some flowers, live a little.

2015 Pin Show

The Pin Show is not only one of the most regarded fashion events in Dallas, it is my very favorite. I look forward to it all year and can't wait for the chance to be surrounded by the fashion elite and those just waiting to erupt into Dallas' next big thing.

The evening was hosted in the newly remodeled Bomb Factory in Deep Ellum, and it certainly did NOT disappoint. I can't wait to go to a concert here and dance the night away. The show was very different than years past, and featured local musicians who performed live sets during the runway show. It really added a nice funk to the normal fashion show format (or maybe that was just the go-go dancers). I love the Pin Show for not only catapulting up and coming designers, but for the reminder it serves. Dallas is such a hub for blossoming fashion and creativity. Let's never forget that.

This show is also the ideal opportunity to bust out the style show stoppers, because after all, you have to work to stand out in this crowd. I bought this skirt months ago and have been hoarding it like the crazed fashion fiend I am. I just knew there was no other occasion that would do it justice. And I had to bust out the $30 Givenchy choker, which I plan to take with me to my grave. I also have to say, that these shoes were a major surprise. I bought them on a whim during an ASOS sale, because hello, BLINGED OUT HEELS. And they are now the most comfortable pair of shoes I own, keeping my feet comfortable and blister free all evening. That in itself deserves a round of applause y'all.

And stay tuned for another upcoming collar with eShakti, and browse their latest collection while you wait.

Had such a blast sitting front row with my favorite interns, and cheering on my friend and showcase designer, Ana Pesqueira

In Bloom

Florals for spring may not be groundbreaking, but it is classic. Try as I might, I've never been much for "classic" styles. I like tassels and leather too much. But what I do enjoy, is throwing a classic style on it's head... and slamming it up against a green wall.

This ensemble is full of my takes on classic spring dressing: a bright black floral dress, some chunky vibrant pumps and a textured oversized coat. Throw on with your favorite accessories and some Mod shades, and take this spring day by storm.

Burgundy Blues

You know you've found a new wardrobe staple, when you can't decide what you want to wear it with first. This denim bomber-style jacket is almost too good to be true. Its so comfortable and light weight, making it the perfect transitional item for this season the rest of the world calls "spring". As a true Dallasite I begrudgingly refer to it as pre-summer. Regardless, I love a good burgundy (those boots, aren't they just perfection?) which I refuse to leave behind in cooler months. Pairing it with the crisp chambray tones really give it a springy brightness. Old Navy has been killing it for me lately in the style department. Their fit and versatility just can't be beat this spring, not to mention the deals are so good, it kind of feels like stealing.
