Forever Fetch

So not only was yesterday the 10 year anniversary of Mean Girls (didn't anyone else just feel themselves age?), but it fell...on a Wednesday. Tell me that no further emphasis or explanation is needed.

This was a great reason for me to go hunting for a perfect pink dress (like I really needed a reason) and showed me what little pink I have in my closet, which is just a shaaaame on my part. I loved how bright and "bubble-gum" this pink was, which is balanced out in the boxy style of this shift dress. It's a little shorter than I would normally go, but I couldn't pass up the unique asymmetrical detail in the front. And yes, those are lace trimmed shorts underneath! I've got some legs y'all, I have to take precautions.

As silly as this might seem to some, Mean Girls has shaped my generation. I mean, can you imagine a life without "fetch"?? I sure don't want to. I remember seeing Mean Girls in the theatre and feeling super cool because my mom let me go before I was 13. And I just remember it being different than anything I had ever seen before. This would lead my best friend and I watching the DVD at every sleepover we ever had (and there's been a lot of sleepovers) to the point that we could most certainly recite it word for word. My high school notes on limits? A doodle of the math-lete competition. Yeah, you could say it was a pretty influential movie.

Isn't it weird how life always seems to transition with the seasons? Enjoy the breeze while you can, because summer is a'coming. Let's be honest, a Dallas spring is basically a summer preview. Now I love my cutoffs as much as the next girl, but there's only so much you can do with them from May to September. April is a mad dash of fashion for me where I rapidly wear all of my cool weather favorites in a fit of pre-summer anxiety. Soon the very thought of a sweatshirt will be enough to send me into a sweat. Ain't Dallas lovely? Just as spring comes to an end, so does my life as a student. Crazinesssss. Excuse me while I enter a cave of internet job hunting. You know where to find me.

Straight Skatepark

This past weekend I was a part of the privileged few to attend the SMITH II runway show presenting fall 2014. The show took place in a downtown skatepark, how cool is that?! It felt like we were trapped in a very hip dungeon. The designer Charles is a friend of mine and is one of the most stylish people I know, so I knew my outfit had to be on point, and I have to say this is definitely one of my most favorite things I have ever worn.

I have been on the hunt for a perfect leather skater skirt for years. So just looking at this Jcp number makes me giddy, and for a mere $35. The floral crop top is something a now wish I could wear everyday without being super obnoxious. Its a coated sweatshirt, which means it's nice and comfy without being heavy or hot. This also makes the colors extra bold and vibrant, perfect for spring (or any time, let's be real).

If you aren't already, follow me on Pinterest to save outfit inspirations and see what inspires me! You can also find the guide to duplicate my eye makeup, which is not only super easy, but my new go to smokey look.
