Cute > Cold

Can someone tell me when spring starts?? Dallas weather is such a drama queen. Each week we go from 70°F to 30° and back again. And it's exhausting. And lately I tend to wear whatever I want, no matter how cold-weather-inappropriate it may be. I never wear mini skirts, but nothing like below freezing temperatures to try it out right.....? The great thing about a little skirt is that it's perfect for work, school, a day date with friends, and then a dinner out. Win win win and win. I love pairing my favorite skirts in the cold weather with a great bold sweater, and this coat I got for Christmas makes for some excellent stripe mixing wonderfulness.

Obvi We're the Ladies: R'ymonda Darling

GIRLS IS BACK YEA YEA! Which means I get to bring back my favorite feature, showcasing some of my oh so stylish friends. This doll is R'ymonda, a determined little freshman at my school who is always full of smiles. I met her when she volunteered for me at one of my organization's events and after working her butt off and overflowing with gratitude, I wanted to put her in my pocket and take her with me everywhere. And not to mention, she's serious model material. I love her take on the classic "little black dress" layerd with a flouncy chiffon blouse, light gray patterned tights, and killer booties.

Check out my column this week featuring Miss R'ymonda here.

Just Call Me Your Style Guru

I'm just going to say it... I AM SO TIRED! Life as finally caught up to me. I am the type of person that says yes to every opportunity, which I highly recommend. It gets you some great stories, and some even greater opportunities. What it also entails is days filled with school, homework, projects, friends (wait, what are those?), social media-ing, endless events, applications, writing, photographing, work, and internshipsss. Did I mention I have three now?? I'm happy/delirious to announce that I will be bringing you weekly Dallas accessories reports as a Style Guru on CollegeFashionista.com!....I'm insane. And sleep deprived. Which leads to me, every other  day, in some variation of this outfit. Consider it my go to. The jeans, are a perfect fit from Forever 21 and are easily the best pair I've probably ever had. I seriously can't recommend them enough. And can we talk about my bag?! The story goes something like: Girl goes to visit best friend at Texas State. Girl goes outlet shopping. Girl walks aimlessly into the Kate Spade store very "do da do do dooo". Girl comes to find that the entire store is a million percent off. Girl announces she is buying her own birthday present and skips out of store. I MEAN COME ON. That could be a bedtime story for little children right?? This purse is original close to $700, and I walked away with it for $120! I also snagged a $20 wallet and $12 earrings. Ridiculous.
Don't forget to check out my bio today on College Fashionista, and get ready for a look at some of my fashionable friends.

Camo On Over

....That was a really bad pun. But how else am I suppose to introduce camo, with a "howdyyyy"? No. Never. Not me. I have always been the big hair/bigger jewelry southern gal: not the cowboy boot and camo country girl. Honestly, I'm not even sure how I found myself in this forbidden print. What sold it for me, is of course the b l i n g. The contradiction of that tougher paired with something ultra girly has always spoken to me, and I feel like it represents me well. When wearing an item outside of your box, pair it with some of your comfort classics. I layered this vest with my trusty old grey sweater and favorite red jersey dress, keeping me cute yet comfy for a long day of work, errands, family, and fun. Try that item on that scares you, isn't that what the (fashion) new year is all about?
